To celebrate its 60th anniversary, McLaren has partnered with the LEGO Group to release a special double pack of LEGO Speed Champions featuring two of McLaren's most iconic supercars, the McLaren F1 LM and McLaren Solus GT. Both LEGO models accurately depict the authentic design and technical features of their real-life counterparts, including the Papaya Orange color of the F1 LM and the central driving seat position of the car. The Solus GT also features a single-seat cockpit design and high-downforce rear wing, inspired by the virtual gaming world concept. The set comes with 581 pieces and two minifigure drivers in their McLaren 'race suits'.
The article highlights Bruce McLaren's racing team, which he
founded in England sixty years ago. McLaren is one of the most successful names
in motorsport and has won the 'Triple Crown of Motorsport' with victories in
the Monaco Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500, and Le Mans 24 Hours. The M6GT, the
first McLaren supercar, was unveiled by Bruce in the 1960s. The partnership between
the LEGO Group and McLaren began in 2015, and since then, they have released
six LEGO Speed Champions McLaren cars and two LEGO Technic McLaren models.
Designers from both companies recently came together at the LEGO HQ in Billund,
Denmark, to celebrate McLaren's 60th anniversary and the release of the
first-ever double pack.
